In 2000 BP attempted to re-brand itself as a forward looking energy company. Gone was the traditional shield, replaced with the green and yellow heliox and the new tagline Beyond Petroleum. Get behind thee evil fossil fuels. Sunshine and green grass forever. Good times.
Now with that damn well spewing millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico it looks like we’ve got an unprecedented environmental disaster on our hands. I suggest BP change its branding strategy one last time. BP should now stand for Bankruptcy Protection.
